physical radiance of an absorber determined by applying Planck's function (either in wavelength space or in terms of frequencies) to absorber temperature, T w , as shown in the following formula (in frequency space): I bb,v = 2 h v 3 c 2 1 e h v k T w 1 where T w is the temperature of the absorber; h is the Plank’s constant ( 6.62607 × 10 34 J s ); v is the frequency in Hz; c is the velocity of light ( 2.997925 × 10 8 m / s ); k is the Boltzmann’s constant ( 1.38064852 × 10 23 J / K ); e is the base of natural logarithm.

Note to entry: The constants are defined in terms of a perfect blackbody.
