fraction of the total radiant energy that is received from the main beam, which is defined as the ratio of the power received within the "main lobe" to that of the total power received by the antenna

Note 1 to entry: η M is calculated using the following formula: η M = Y F n ( θ , ϕ ) d Ω 4 π F n ( θ , ϕ ) d Ω where F n is the antenna pattern; θ is the elevation angle; ϕ is the azimuth angle; d Ω is the differential solid angle; Y is the main lobe value.

Note 2 to entry: Main beam is also referred as main lobe.
