DTM
digital elevation model (DEM) that incorporates the elevation of important topographic features on the land.
Note to entry:
DTMs are comprised of mass points and breaklines that are irregularly spaced to better characterize the true shape of the bare-earth terrain. The net result of DTMs is that the distinctive terrain features are more clearly defined and precisely located, and contours generated from DTMs more closely approximate the real shape of the terrain.

MDT
modelo digital de elevaciones (MDE) que incorpora la elevación de los objetos topográficos importantes sobre el terreno.
Nota:
Los MDT se componen de un gran número puntos y líneas de quiebre que están espaciados irregularmente para caracterizar mejor la forma real del terreno desnudo. El resultado neto de los MDT es tal que los rasgos distintivos del terreno están más claramente definioas y precisamente localizados, y las curvas de nivel generadas a partir de los MDT se aproximan más a la forma real del terreno.
